ADVANCED ANALYSIS / TEST

HTST

HTST (High Temperature Storage)

  • The High Temperature Storage Test (HTST) is a test that evaluates how the product is affected during long periods of high temperature storage. The purpose is to evaluate the long-term reliability of the product without applying electrical stress. HTST consists of exposing samples at prescribed temperatures for a prescribed period of time.
  • High temperature storage tests can be used and accelerated at very high temperatures, but care must be taken not to introduce defects such as Kirkendal Voyaging that occur at very high temperatures, or to suppress defects such as stress migration at temperatures above 180 degrees Celsius.
